Exhibition of Painting by Pascale Steenkiste

The pictures will be on display from Sun 5th November to Sun 3rd December, with the official opening on Friday 10th November (7-9pm). 10% of sales will go to ’Social Bite’.

I work with acrylics/mixed media on canvas sometimes on wood.  My paintings are generally not representative of specific locations or objects but are a mixture of elements that I feel work well together such as shape, colour and texture. I think/feel about my paintings as what Joan Eardley spoke about as emotional realism – it is not what you see but what you feel when you look at something.  My route to painting was not a traditional one. I started morning art classes at Glasgow University almost 10 years ago and never looked back, from there I went on to Glasgow School of Art working on colour and composition. I now work full time from my studio here in Glasgow experimenting with colour and texture.

St Andrew’s Day Ceilidh

The club will be hosting The Midgierakers for a night of music and dance on Friday 1st December (7pm). Tickets are available from Rosemary on

Wine and Gin Tastings

Great Spirits of Clarence Drive have been holding a series of wine and gin tastings in the clubhouse. At the next event on Friday 24th November (7-10pm) you can sampke over sixty wines – everything from Champagne and Prosecco to rich warming reds to those special dessert wines which everybody loves for the festive season. As always they are offering a small discount for order placed on the night. Tickets are £25 in advance available from the shop in Clarence Drive.

Wednesday Night Bowls – All Welcome!

The bowling season has now finished and will start again next March.

Whether you’ve never played or are an experienced bowler, come along on Wednesdays from 7pm and we can get you out on the green. We can supply the bowls equipment but please wear flat soled shoes (a pair of trainers will do) to avoid damaging the green. Our bar will also be open for a refreshment afterwards.
